I've some ideas for the website
You don't need to have any technical knowledge to contribute to our website; the Webmaster will cover all of the HTML, formatting, and uploading aspects if you like. Alternatively, if you are more interested in the technical aspects, you could cover some of that, and again the Webmaster can advise.
Just send any text you have to the Webmaster by email, or via Cpl Adams, or the CO. If you have any photos which you think might be suitable to help illustrate an item on the website, please show them to the CO, and we can get them scanned in and added.
A mechanism (News Editing) has also been set up, in the member's pages, by which nominated Squadron members can maintain entries on the News/Events pages directly, without involving the webmaster. This uses web based forms, is quite simple and does not need any knowledge of HTML or FTP. If you are interested in this please contact the Webmaster or CO.

How do get access to the Member's pages?
To access these private pages, you just need to be given a Username and Password - please contact the Webmaster or CO. Currently this enables you to view an extended version of the News/Events pages, which may contain details that a News editor has marked as Private and so not visible to the general public

How do I use the News Editing facilities?
If you have been given a user account to access the private pages (see above) and have been given authority to make updates to the News pages, then you should find that when you log in to the Members pages, that the list of available facilities includes a second privileged group, and one of these is Maintain News / Events which will take you to the News Manager. The News Manager facility has its own Help page. This will explain how to manage the set of defined News Items, and if you highlight one, you can then get to the News Editor to edit an individual entry. The News Editor also has its own Help page.
