A message from OC 125 (Cheltenham) Squadron

Welcome to the new 125 Cheltenham Squadron, Air Training Corps Site. This site is created and maintained by the cadets and staff of the squadron with technical support from our webmaster (J Adams). The Air Training Corps is a voluntary youth organization supported by the Royal Air Force. With almost 49,000 members, aged from 13 to 22 years, the ATC is one of the country's premier youth organizations and the world's largest youth air training organization.

Cheltenham has its own squadron located in Charlton Kings centre and is one of over 1000 different squadrons located in the UK. It currently has a membership of 35 cadets with a Staff of 6 adult volunteers. The squadron does a host of different activities - see Activities to find out more. 125(Cheltenham) Squadron has one main aim: every cadet who joins our squadron gains something which will be to their advantage in future. Most will build a considerable record of achievements.

It is to be hoped of course that they also enjoy their time on the Squadron.

In addition to developing character and personality, there are opportunities to participate in a wide range of activities. "Blues" for sporting representation, marksmanship badges for shooting, the Duke of Edinburgh's bronze, silver and gold awards, and "wings" for successfully completing gliding and powered aircraft flying courses, are just some of the many achievements which could enhance a cadet's C.V.

The programme is balanced by a variety of social activities, such as ten pin bowling, theme park visits, barbecues and disco's.

There is no better foundation for a career than responsibility and integrity, and no other organisation can offer young people such a wealth of opportunity. Employers now look beyond academic abilities, seeking candidates with positive, enthusiastic attitudes, organisational and leadership experience, self-discipline, determination and proven team-working skills - all can be achieved in the Corps.

Today's Air Cadets are "The Next Generation".

Our task is to prepare them. Enjoy your visit to our site and if you have any comments please email our webmaster feedback@atc125.fsnet.co.uk
